Balance Trainer & Balance Board

The balance trainer is a testing and training device used to assess the stability and coordination of the entire body. Through a screen, movements are recorded and compared to a previously given screen exercise. The results are linked to coordination and stability, following the principal “minimal exertion, maximal gain”. The results are clear and obvious for you, as a patient and anyone you would wish to show them to.

The balance trainer consists of two multiplex discs with a diameter of 60 centimetres. The centre contains a three-dimensional sphere, which is suspended using a steel elastic system. Because of this the balance trainer is always positioned in the centre. Any deviations from the centred position can be linked to an impediment in the movement behaviour according to the principal “minimal exertion, maximal gain”.

For the balance spinning top, three new tests have been developed. These tests last approximately four minutes and can service any target group, from top athlete to elderly people. The maximum exploitation of energy efficient movements is important, not only for athletes but for anyone who wishes to avoid complaints or improve performance.

The results gained from the tests and exercises, can be read simply by approaching the database. In this database, the test results are automatically processed and can be sent to others, although this is not obligatory. The database system uses a numbering system, in which every patient can log in using their own log in details. These details are provided by the therapist, and can be used to see ones own results, at the therapist’s practice or on the database.

The balance board is often used in addition to the balance spinning top. The measurements for the balance board are 40 x 60 centimetres, and its height is adjustable to reach 32, 40 or 50 millimetres. The Balance board can be used forwards, backwards and sideways and used mostly to support the balance spinning top.

Handling of both the balance trainer as the balance board allows the general body coordination and stability to improve, specifically in the ankle, knee and hip joints.
